HIRC management has developed its internal operational system based on International quality
standards. HIRC will be accredited for its Halal certification and advisory services by recognized
accreditation bodies both in Pakistan and overseas in order to constantly develop better quality
services for the industry.

HIRC will follow the Halal Standards issued and approved by the Government of Islamic
Republic of Pakistan.

Currently, HIRC follows PS 3733: 2010 Pakistan Standards for Halal Food Management Systems. Requirements for any organization in the food chain issued by Pakistan Standard and Quality
Control Authority (PSQCA), a division of Ministry of Science and Technology Pakistan.
HIRC also represents on the Technical committee for Halal foods of PSQCA, Ministry of Science
and Technology.

Halal compliance audit is carried out as a pre-certification inspection audit where following
activities are conducted:

 Plant and manufacturing process inspection
 Collection of all the required documentation for audit purposes
 Collection of product samples for laboratory testing
 Dispatch of product samples to approved laboratories
 Prepare inspection visit report for audit committee
 

Qualified inspectors and inspection team is arranged to visit client to check the Halal
manufacturing process as per the Halal critical points program developed by HIRC.

Halal surveillance audit is carried out as a post-certification inspection audit where following
activities are conducted:

 Plant and manufacturing process post certification inspection
 Collection of product samples for laboratory testing, if any complaints
 Cross verifications of initial application approvals
 Prepare inspection visit report for audit committee
 

Qualified inspectors and inspection team is arranged to visit client to check the Halal manufacturing process as per the Halal critical points program developed by HIRC. Up to 4 random, unannounced Halal surveillance audits can be carried out in any given period of the Halal certification by HIRC inspection team or as deemed necessary by the Audit or Shariah committee.
